REFIBRA™ Lyocell is a new type of fiber from nature, produced through an innovative process that captures the beauty of cotton and wood without damaging trees or using harmful chemicals.
REFIBRA™ Lyocell is made from wood and cotton waste, two materials that are abundant but usually end up in landfills. The material's strength lies in its construction: although made from natural materials, REFIBRA™ Lyocell looks and feels like silk or cotton - but it's more durable than either, making it perfect for sportswear you want to wear every day.
The process uses significantly less water than growing cotton or producing other synthetic fibers.
Switcher's commitment to being as environmentally friendly as possible led to the selection of REFIBRA™ Lyocell for the new activewear line. It uses significantly less water than growing cotton or producing other synthetic fibers, while having a smaller carbon footprint than traditional cotton and polyester production.
In fact, the carbon footprint for producing one meter of REFIBRA™ Lyocell is about one-third that of producing one meter of polyester and about one-tenth that of producing one meter of rayon.
It has many of the same great properties as cotton, including breathability and a natural look and feel.
